It may be said that every part of Italy has its own characteristic landscape, language, cuisine, type of agriculture, settlement pattern, seasonal holidays and celebrations, and all this is undoubtedly a function of the geography and history experienced by the resident populations. But we must not forget the many farms located outside big cities that allow visitors to experience the countryside or even just to acquire speciality foods or meals with minimal travel from urban areas and the possibility of stopping for even just a few hours.
